Ecommerce

We build both standalone ecommerce sites and also TYPO3 ecommerce integrations using Magento Open Source and MIVA merchant packages. We are experienced using TypoGento to bridge TYPO3 and Magento Community.

Ecommerce can provide additional profit centers to an existing business or be the primary sales tool for another. We work with our clients to select and implement the appropriate Ecommerce package in light of their business goals and operational practices.

For instance, one client had dealers in the United States and distributors overseas who sold their primary products. The dealers and distributors had exclusive sales rights in their territories, however the client also wanted to sell accessories and replacement parts direct to consumers. Ideally all sales would go through the Ecommerce system, for the sake of efficiency, but web site visitors should only see the products that they could purchase.

These requirements demanded an Ecommerce package that made effective use of customer groups and user rights. Advance Web Marketing provided a system where anonymous visitors saw and could purchase the Accessories only. Dealers could see their products -- with their discounted prices -- and make purchases through the same system. Rules were created to show differential pricing to dealers based upon their historic purchase levels.

Distributors saw their product available, sold in their bulk purchase quantities, with their pricing. Customer by Customer and Country by country pricing made it possible to adjust for variable market conditions. Approved customers could buy using purchase orders. Others did not see that option.

All orders were fed into a back end system that generated shipping labels and communicated inventory levels to the Ecommerce package.

The end result was a system that could handle all of their customers through one Ecommerce system.

Magento Open Source

Magento has taken off as an e-commerce solution in the last two years, with thousands of stores successfully operating around the world. We have found it to be flexible and capable of meeting most customer requirements.

Based on the MySQL database and developed in the PHP scripting language, it's a good fit for clients who also use TYPO3.

TypoGento

TypoGento is a middleware service to integrate TYPO3 with Magento e-commerce. The e-commerce store within TYPO3's page structure and speaking language URL system. Store customers are automatically registered in TYPO3's front end user registration system.

Examples of successful implementations include Bianchi USA and Faster Technology, LLC. The later was developed by Advance Web Marketing.

Miva Merchant

Miva Merchant allows us to build e-commerce stores with very fine control over product display and customer pricing options for businesses with complex sales rules. The latest versions use the MySQL database, which allows us to integrate where useful with TYPO3.

Miva's templating systems allows us to make the e-commerce package match the parent web site's look and feel. A large community of experienced developers produce extensions to help the required business practices.
