TYPO3 Multilingual Sites

TYPO3 can be configured to support multiple languages, whether each language has its own page tree or shares a common tree. Editing permissions make it easy to assign tasks to translators, who can see the default content alongside their translation as they work.

When a page or content item is not translated, the editor can specify whether the default language is shown or the content is hidden. Menus are adjusted automatically and, to enhance search engine optimization, language specific page names can be created.

Example multi-lingual TYPO3 sites include:

ETCO's TYPO3 site is in English, Spanish and Chinese

A successful manufacturer of electrical terminals, ETCO's drive for improved manufacturing efficiency and innovative R&D gave them additional production capacity. The company elected to build a new web site to help penetrate new markets including Latin America and China.

TYPO3's ability to deliver content in multiple languages makes it easy to maintain the content with internal staff, none of whom require HTML expertise. Developed by Advance Web Marketing.

Webex.com uses TYPO3 to deliver content to 12 languages and regions

Cisco's Webex.com site delivers content in multiple languages to a dozen world-wide regions. Their system takes full advantage of TYPO3's multilingual calabilities.
